Please be advised that for all new patients 50 years and older, we require an initial long consultation.
We do not accept script or referral requests over the phone or email.
These requests require an appointment.
If your consult is a script only appointment that is 5 minutes or less, we charge a $30 fee with a medicare rebate of $16.95.
If you require a nurse for your doctors appointment, (ROS, Dressings, injections, vaccinations, IUD's, Medicals), please make sure you advise at the time of booking to avoid having to re-book due to unavailability of nurse.
SEVERE WEATHER EVENT - Friday, 1st February and Saturday, 2nd February 2019
Due to the significant weather event creating havoc on our road and properties, we have decided to CLOSE the Practice from today, 1st February until Monday, 4th February for the safety of our staff and patients.
We did not make this decision lightly, but as the heavy rain continued to fall overnight, and caused more major flooding around Townsville, we dont believe it is safe for our staff, and especially patients, to be out on the roads.
The Premier, SES and Police Service are advising that people stay indoors and off the roads, as much as possible today, but if you have an emergency, please call 000 or if able, attend the TTH or Mater ED's.
If you require medical care, please call 13 55 66 - House Call Doctor - but again, only if necessary, as we envision they will be quite busy also.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused but safety is paramount.
We hope to open at 8.30am on Monday but again will depend on the weather events over the weekend, and the advice of the weather bureau and Emergency Services.
We will keep you posted via our Facebook page and our Website and if we need to cancel further appointments, we will attempt to contact you.

Mental Health – We can do mental health consultations regularly with you but if you prefer, we can refer you through a Mental Health Care Plan for visits to a Psychiatrist or Psychologist. This gives you a certain amount of visits for free.
Maternity Care – We feel honoured when patients ask us to look after yourselves and your baby during your pregnancy. We happily provide Shared Care with the Hospital if that’s what you would like to do.
Injections - We do all General Practice injections – B12, Steroid injections, Whooping cough vaccines, Flu Vaccines, ADT, etc.
These require a small consultation with your GP and our Practice Nurse then administers same. Some injections require you to get a script filled from the pharmacy.

A Doctor will come to your home and bulk bill from 6pm Weeknights; 12 noon Saturday to 8am Monday morning; All day public holidays.
Please provide them with our Practice details so that they send us a notification of their visit with you for your patient chart and ability to follow up with your usual GP.

Due to the demand on our Nursing time with 5 doctors consulting, we request that when you are booking the following appointments with your GP, you also require an appointment with the Nurses.
Dressing and wound reviews;
Removal of Sutures;
Excisions and Biopsies;
ANY Vaccination, immunisation, injection;
Mirena Insertions and Removals;
Implanon Insertion and Removals;
ECG and Spirometry;
Employment Medicals; Dive Medicals, Aviation Medicals, Drivers Licence Medicals; and
You MUST advise Reception (and online bookings) at the time of booking these appointments, that you require the Nurse, to avoid having to re-book when the Nurse is available.
When receiving results over the phone, we will always ask you your full name and another TWO individual identifiers to ensure we are speaking to the correct patient.
We will do this every time we speak with you over the phone regarding results or any other health information you require.
We do this for YOUR Privacy, not to inconvience you.
We also WILL NOT provide personal or health information to a person other than yourself, on your behalf. You can not call up for your spouse or child under 16 years of age, regardless of whether you were in the initial appointment with them or if you paid for the consultation.
Again, this is for YOUR privacy.
DID NOT ATTEND NOTICES AND PAYMENTS
We are a fully booked Medical Practice with a Cancellation list for patients who were unable to get an appointment.
We are also a Practice who send out SMS reminders to all patients with a valid mobile number on their files, the day before their booked appointment time. We also provide appointment cards to all patients, unless otherwise advised, of their booked appointment time.
All we ask is if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment to please contact the surgery and advise so. This way we can offer that appointment time to someone on our cancellation list.
If you do not advise us that you are unable to attend within 1 hour of your appointment time, you will first receive a letter advising you missed an appointment. If you miss another appointment, you will be billed a $36 DNA fee. This is non rebateable from medicare and is payable before your next consultation.
